Is that a delphinium in your garden, or are you just happy to see me?
I really, really tried to look at this flower with maturity and objectivety, but anyone who knows me knows that I’m not very mature or objective.
Sorry.
Normally, only a few types of cactus can evoke this sixth grade humor from me. But there’s something about this delphinium.
Sadly this flower does not belong to me. It resides in my friend Patricia’s garden “Garden Party”.
I asked Patricia her secret to such a, “eh-hem”, healthy specimen. She told me that she sometimes uses Miracle Grow to achieve such “large” blooms.
In this case, Miracle Grow with just a quarter of a Viagra, worked wonders.
And the blossom lasts and lasts.

That delphinium has certainly reaffirmed that flowers' place in the garden as one of my favorites. I know it perked up my interest immediatly. Such a strong, vigorous, solid sprout on that plant. :)

And it appears to not be staked! I have a dozen or so delphinium seedlings that I hope will be blooming for me next year.

Wow, that is the very first thing I thought too when I saw that fine figure of a flower... (I'm glad it's not just me) tee-hee hee

I love this combination of whites! Very lovely. :) And isn't nature amazing at how much the little plant "porn" seems to show up? LOL
